TA10 Titanium Rod Performance and Applications

TA10 Titanium Rod Performance and Applications

2025-07-11

I. Overview of Titanium Rods
Pure titanium rods and titanium alloy rods are new structural materials. Titanium is characterized by its high melting point, low density, high specific strength, good toughness, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance to acids and alkalis, low thermal conductivity, excellent performance under high and low temperatures, and low stress under rapid cooling and heating conditions. These properties make titanium rods applicable in high-tech fields such as aviation and aerospace, and they are increasingly being adopted in industries like chemical processing, petroleum, power generation, seawater desalination, construction, and everyday consumer goods.

II. Common Grades of Titanium Rods
National Standard Grades: TA1, TA2, TA3, TA7, TA9, TA10, TA15, TA18, TC4, TC4ELI, TC6, TC9, TC10, TC11
American Standard Grades: GR1, GR2, GR3, GR5, GR7, GR12

III. Manufacturing Process of Titanium Rods:
Hot Forging - Hot Rolling - Annealing and Straightening - Turning (Grinding) - Polishing - Facing - Inspection - Packaging

IV. Commonly Applied Standards for Titanium Rods:
National Standards: GB/2965-2007, GB/T13810
American Standards: ASTM B348, ASTM F136, ASTM F67, AMS4928

V. Titanium Rod Specifications: (Diameter * Length/mm): 6mm-250mm * L

VI. Supply Condition of Titanium Rods: Hot Worked Condition, Annealed Condition

VII. Referenced Standards

  1. GB 228 Metallic Materials - Tensile Testing

  2. GB/T 3620.1 Designations and Chemical Composition of Titanium and Titanium Alloys

  3. GB/T 3620.2 Chemical Composition and Permissible Variations of Titanium and Titanium Alloy Processed Products

  4. GB 4698 Sponge Titanium and Methods for Chemical Analysis of Titanium and Titanium Alloys

VIII. Technical Requirements for Titanium Rods

  1. The chemical composition of titanium and titanium alloy rods shall comply with GB/T 3620.1. For repeated verification, the permissible variations in chemical composition shall conform to GB/T 3620.2. TA10 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni)

  2. The diameter or side length of hot-worked rods and their permissible deviations shall comply with the relevant specifications.

  3. The permissible diameter deviations of hot-worked rods after turning (grinding) and cold-rolled or cold-drawn rods shall comply with industry standards.

  4. The out-of-roundness of hot-worked rods after turning (grinding) shall not exceed half of their dimensional tolerance.

IX. Applications:
Aerospace, aviation, marine, shipbuilding, seawater desalination, petroleum, chemical processing, mechanical equipment, nuclear power equipment, power equipment, automotive and motorcycle components, sports and leisure, medical components, iron and steel metallurgy, and high-tech fields.
